The Very First Creed of the Church

The very early church used a "brief creed" or "confession" as
"a statement of religious belief" in the Baptism Ceremony of
new converts. Paul writes is 1st Corinthians 15:3-8, N.I.V.:

"For what I received I passed on to you as of
first importance that ---

'Christ died for our sins
according to the Scriptures,
that he was buried,
that he was raised on the third day
according to the Scriptures,' ---
